Korean Barbecue (Korean Kalbi) Recipe

Would you like to try something new other than usual dishes for this weekend? How about Korean Barbecue (Beef Kalbi). It is very simple.

*Ingredients*

5lb beef short rib

4cup soy saucep

4cup water

4cup sugarp

2T minced garlic

2T sesame oil

1T pepper

1 bunch spring onions (Sliced or grind)

Optional: Add 1/2 cup red wine

*Steps*

1. In a large bowl with flat bottom (preferably). Mix all the ingredients.

2. Add short rib to the mix and marinate well at least 3 hours.

3. Barbecue, oven broil or pan fry

My favorite choice would be barbecue, but any of those three methods tastes good as well. You can use chicken or other meat instead. And enjoy!

First Metalsmith Works: Silver Rings and Necklace

These are my first metal smiths works. I had to spend five days to make two rings and this silver pendant for necklace under my teacher's supervision. It was so exhausting and hard work, but it really gave me a great gratitude. I feel like I conquer the world. (almost..) These are just for me. And it is priceless!

Fall Necklace

This necklace is full of fall season color. After changing the design couple of times for two days, finally I made this eye-catching necklace. The picture was taken with my son's violin. It helps to show my feeling about this necklace. Thanks to my son.

Simple Wire Curved Earrings

These came out through trial and error. There is no beads or complicated wire wrapped involved, but I still like these earrings since these are simple yet modern looking.

Fused Glass Arts

When you look at the fused Glass art, the more you look at it, the more you are mesmerized. It seems like there is a story.

It has warmth and depth even in that small piece. I found these wonderful arts on Etsy and the artist's name is Gloria Lynn. Below shows her profile and some more her works.

Hope you Enjoy!

"My name is Gloria and I've been creating stained glass and fused glass for about 20 years. I am still amazed at the delightful and surprising effects I can achieve working in this medium.

Some of the works of art I've made and sold include: Jewelry, Jewelry Boxes, Plates, Candles and Clocks. The transformation of a handful of glass into a magnificent rainbow of color seems like magic.

Whether it's a clock, plate or a piece of jewelry, the depth of color, brilliance and craftsmanship of my glass pieces always gets noticed. Currently I have been specializing in fused glass jewelry. " quotes from Etsy profile.

You can find her more works at http://www.glorialynnglass.etsy.com and http://www.glorialynnglass.artfire.com

Simple Brass Earrings

Another vintage looking brass earrings. These earrings are so simple and timeless. The ring is hammered for the rich texture. Love the french style hooks. Those look like a swan's neck. Hope you like them as well.

1. How did you get into Etsy?

I got into Etsy because I wanted to try a new way of selling my paintings online. I wanted buyers who would really appreciate an original and unique painting.I found Etsy by researching handmade shops online. The Etsy shopper loves homemade things because they like quality and uniqueness.

2. How do you get inspired?

I get inspired by nature and colors around me. I might see a shape in nature that looks really cool and use that as a starting point for a painting.

3. What is your favorite theme and material of your art?

I love acrylic paint and stretched canvas. I love to paint large with huge brush strokes. It gives me the freedom of creativity that I really love.

4. What is your short term and long term goal?

My short term goal is to stay focused on my day making it productive and full of time well spent on my business so that I can keep evolving as an artist. My long term goal, along with continuing to paint, is to eventually create a line of textiles, surface design, and paper goods with my designs. The more color the better!

Thank you,

Karen Fields
